Vor einigen Wochen kamen Gerüchte auf, wonach Apple dann erstmals in einem Mac ein Blu-ray-Laufwerk anbieten wird. AppleInsider will nun aber in Erfahrung gebracht haben, dass Blu-ray weiterhin ein Wunschtraum bleibt. Bereits im letzten Monat habe Apple mit der Produktion begonnen, erst kurz zuvor sei die Entscheidung gegen Blu-ray gefallen. Auch zu den Prozessoren sind neue Gerüchte aufgetaucht. Apple werde demnach Gebrauch vom neuen Clarksfield-Prozessor machen, der über vier Prozessorkerne verfügt und auf der Nehalem-Architektur basiert."

Zwar war es mit iPod touch und iPhone möglich, sich entsprechende Programme im App Store zu laden, von Haus aus ist aber kein Radioempfang möglich. Dies änderte sich mit dem im September vorgestellten iPod nano, mit dem nun auch unterwegs Radiosender gehört werden können. Gerüchten zufolge wird der iPod nano nicht der einzige iPod mit Radio bleiben.
